Hanukkah

Give Light re-imagines the concept of gift giving during Hanukkah as a time for tikkun olam. The initiative asks people to consider how and why they "give light" to others this season.

What does "Give Light" mean?

It means giving time, talents, thoughts or money to causes you believe in. It may mean speaking up to injustice, supporting a friend or loved one in need - or something completely unique to you.

Give Light sheet and bookmarks

Share how you will give light. These tools can be used by individuals, families or communities as they light the Menorah candles each night; it can be used in classrooms as an activity throughout the 8 days; it can be used at a Hanukkah party as a conversation starter - i.e. How do you give light to others in your life? We have designed these for easy at-home printing, with two sides back to back, and three to a page for easy cutting.

Give light coupon book

The pages of the coupon book can be used to give the gift of "light" to someone else during the holiday. Each coupon says, "On this night I give light by______as a gift to______." The printable coupon sheets can be given out to individuals or can be used in a hands-on craft. Participants can cut each of the coupons out, make a cover with scrapbooking paper and secure the pages with metal brads.
