Reboot Hanukkah Pop Up Shop 2018

Join us for the 3rd annual Reboot Hanukkah Pop Up Shop in San Francisco! As always, we have a great selection of Jewish items in store, along with activities, events and other festivities. Rekindle your Jewish connections.

The Hanukkah Pop Up will be open daily at 10 a.m. from Wednesday, November 28 to Wednesday, December 5. We have special events happening throughout the week, including:

• “The Hanukkah Ornament”, young adult cocktail party co-sponsored with Congregation Sha’ar Zahav with Rabbi Josh Buchin of the Jewish Community HIgh School of the Bay. With partner Honeymoon Israel.
• Mahjong with Sara Linden Levy
• “Warrior Training” movement and meditation with Sarah Waxman of At The Well and special smoothies with Bright Bean Health. With partner Honeymoon Israel.
• Light it Up: Olive Oil tasting with Congregation Sherith Israel and partners NOPA Moishe House and Honeymoon Israel.
• Family Hanukkah Party with music by Jonathan Bayer, crafts and Hanukkah-themed snacks.
• Castro Menorah Lighting Afterparty with Congregation Sha’ar Zahav and crafts with Limmud Bay Area and the Russian Speaking Jewish Moishe House.
• Gelty Pleasures: The alternative Christmas party sing-along around a piano with Sharky Laguana and Zach Rogue.
• Reading nook with PJ Library 
• Ongoing children's crafts and activities 
• Special Hanukkah cocktail, “Geltini” at select events

Friday, November 30:

• 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. MahJongg with Sara Linden Levy’s Mahj Club with tea and treats.

• 8 p.m. “The Hanukkah Ornament” young adult cocktail party co-presented by Congregation Sha’ar Zahav and Reboot. We will explore what it means to maintain our particularity as Jews within our larger culture as we partake in a Menorah ornament craft activity and sip our specialty cocktail, “The Geltini.” Led by Rabbi Josh Buchin of the Jewish Community High School and Mychal Copeland of Sha’ar Zahav. Co-presented by Sha’ar Zahav and Reboot with partner Honeymoon Israel. Suggested age group 21-37.

Saturday, December 1: 

• 8:30 a.m. - 10 a.m. “Warrior Training” with Sarah Waxman of At The Well. Movement and meditation topped off with special smoothies by Stefanie Adler of Bright Bean Health. With partner Honeymoon Israel. $10 Tickets here or at the door.

We'll read the story of Judith on Hannukah, the story of a brave, fearless, and powerful Bada** biblical babe. Few may know her story, but any woman looking to empower her life will resonate deeply with what Judith is known for. Spend a special Shabbat morning moving our bodies, and recounting the story. We will learn and embody all this power. You'll leave stronger and taller, and have a wonderful way to kick off the holiday of lights!

• 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Light it Up: Olive Oil Tasting for young adults presented by Sherith Israel and Reboot with partners Moishe House NOPA and Honeymoon Israel. Traditional menorahs use olive oil with wicks instead of candles. Join us for a teaching and tasting with Sherith Israel Rabbi Jessica Zimmerman Graf. Free tickets here.

Sunday, December 2:

• Hanukkah crafts and activities all day.

• 2 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Family Hanukkah party with music, crafts, hanukkah-themed treats and menorah “lighting” with Jessica Zimmerman Graf of Congregation Sherith Israel. Dance and jump to the music of Jonathan Bayer. Make light stick menorahs, Matzo Ball Soup play foods, and Hanukkah ornaments and fill your own donut holes with pudding and jam! Free tickets here.

Tuesday, December 4:

• 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Gelty Pleasures: The alternative Christmas party, a sing-along around a piano with Hanukkah songs and the famous Christmas songs by Jewish writers/singers. Songs at 7 p.m., led by Sharky Laguana. Free tickets here.

Wednesday, December 5:

• 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Castro Menorah Lighting After Party with Congregation Sha’ar Zahav and free bookbinding and eco-gift wrapping workshops from Limmud Bay Area and candle making with the Russian Speaking Jewish Moishe House. Wine and snacks and all-ages free Hanukkah activities. 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. Hands-on book-binding workshop, 8-8:30 p.m. 7-:30 p.m. Candle making workshop. Workshop on ecological gift-wrapping, creative ideas to make beautiful gift wrapping without commercial wrapping paper. Free tickets here.
